It all started with lifeguarding...
There we were, on the bleachers of Granada High School in Livermore, anxiously awaiting our impending swim test to be considered for the East Bay Regional Park District's Lifeguard Program. Little did we know, the future would bring us two strangers together in the coming years.
Then suddenly, an earnest yet juvenile friend, broke the calm reflective moment by bringing everyone within earshot, besides the hyper-focused future wife, to the attention of the fact that he could not swim due to an accidental and unfortunate chemical burn.
As time went on, and college years flew by, we both found each other crossing paths time and time again at work during each summer. The adventures of fighting fires and saving the babies strengthened our bond as friends, and increased our respect and attraction for each other as strong individuals.
This continued until the summer of 2013, when the stars aligned and we began our new adventures of school and work together this time, by jumping into a long distance relationship from Los Angeles to San Francisco.
Despite all of the challenges over the next 3 years, we united as a team and persevered to come out on the other side once again united together in the summer of 2015. Soon after, coming face to face with the reality of our "One Rule" before marriage...she was to graduate from SFSU in May of 2016.
As a man of his word, He following their agreement by waiting no more than 5 hours after Her graduation to ask Her the most important question of their lives together.
On May 29, 2016, surrounded by the love and support of their family, He asked Her, in the most eloquent and meaningful way possible, to begin and commit to a lifetime of marriage from that day forth.
The rest as they say, is history.
